As spring practice draws to a near it is humbling to reflect upon the effort of our coaching staff and our players throughout the last several weeks.  Since June 1st, our players have been multi-tasking football meetings and practice, as well as four to five basketball games a week and several baseball games...not to mention school.  On a related note, it was just announced that Mountain View is once again ranked in the top 2.5 percent of all high schools in the United States (the highest ranking in Southwest Washington and the third year in a row that Mountain View has been on the list).
As for spring ball, we had the opportunity to get a good look at many of our 32 sophomores to be.  It is an extremely hard working group of young men that should challenge and complement our juniors and seniors this season rather well.  In addition to the sophomores, we had the chance to get a good look at the future, as we had some middle school students on campus for a couple of days - as coaches we couldn't be more pleased with their enthusiasm and attention to detail - To The Top ...

We just put a wrap on our first official week of spring conditioning with our best day yet.  Numerous players were flying around the gym and moving a great amount of weight on the platform...it is apparent that the winter work and early spring work is paying dividends for those that have participated.  On a related, but side note, I would like to thank Coach Beyer for all of his work in this arena.  He has done an exceptional job leading our strength and conditioning program, as he has focused on training the whole student-athlete, not just one or two components; his expertise in this area is greatly appreciated by our staff and kids - To The Top ...

Welcome to the first official entry on the Mountain View High School Football Coaches Blog.  We appreciate you checking in with us, as we do our best to keep you updated on the many happenings around the Mountain View Football Program.  We have had a great winter of training and competition.  One of the things that sets us apart from other programs throughout the state is our desire to have our kids play multiple sports, rather than simply focus on football.  We believe that the preparation and competitive environment that they receive in these other avenues give us the greatest opportunity to get to the top in football and in life beyond the playing field.  In briefly recapping the winter, we had several high placing wrestlers at the league and district meet and our boys basketball team won the outright League Championship and advanced to the District Championship Game.

Yesterday, we began our official beginning of spring conditioning (for those not in a spring sport), which will culminate with 15 practices in the month of June.  Through 2 days we have had a great turnout and will look for more folks to join us as their spring sports conclude in the coming days.  One sport that won't be concluding early is the baseball team...by defeating Evergreen High School tonight, our guys have advanced to the District Baseball Tournament for the first time in 13 years - WAY TO GO GUYS AND BEST OF LUCK AT DISTRICTS!!!  That's all for today - To The Top ...
